1. Consider the six key themes that we talked about earlier. Provide one example (each) of how Let the Right One In ties into these themes. Consider elements of setting, character, and plot in your responses.
2. a) With a partner brainstorm a list of vampire rules. Provide an example of how Let the Right One In follows these rules.
b) Movies such as the Twilight series actually change many of the “rules” of vampires. Does this matter?
3. a) In what ways do you find the Swedish approach to horror movies is unique / different from a North American approach? Consider elements of pacing, camera activity, explicit violence / sexuality, setting, actor choices, etc.
b) Which do you prefer? Why? Consider at least one key film example from the U.S. as a quick comparison.
4. Do we feel sympathy for both Oskar and Eli? Explain why.
5. Create the backstory to Eli’s becoming a vampire. You can do this as a script where she explains this to Oskar; a short story; a storyboard; a film, etc.
